Reach out to your local #PublicAdjsuter before you ever have a claim! Ask for a policy review and recommendations, and ask about their process in the event you have an insurance claim. You’ll know if they know what to do.

Ask about their resources also, and guidelines to preparing your home for a claim event, and what to do IMMEDIATELY upon a claim event.

Get on the mailing lists of groups like APAssociation.org and UpHELP.org for more info and resources. You can read #PayUp, but don’t expect any help other than self-help there, unless you’re part of a FEMA level catastrophe?

HINT: IN THE EVENT OF A WEATHER CATASTROPHE – YOUR BEST FIRST CALL IS NOT TO YOUR ADJUSTER, UNLESS YOU LIKE THE RISK OF LOSING EVERYTHING YOU EVER WORKED FOR, AND MAYBE EVEN YOUR HEALTH
